Home - A Message from Governor Culver

Dear Iowan,

I want you to know about an important health matter that can affect all of us. A majority of Iowans age sixty-five and older will require long-term care services at some point in their lives. Because these services are not generally covered by Medicare, it is important to start planning now. Don’t let failure to plan diminish your options in the future.

Allow me to introduce Angela V., a fellow Iowan  with a personal experience in long-term care planning. Read her story by clicking the “Iowan Testimonial” tab, or simply clicking on her picture.

Also, The State of Iowa has partnered with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to encourage citizens to start planning and preparing for their long-term care needs. Please click the link below, and order your free information from HHS to help you with your own long-term care planning.

Sincerely,

Chester J. Culver

Governor of Iowa
